Asian Pacific Care Venture, Inc. "working together for cummunity health"

  • About - Your Community is our Community. We Care.

History

Asian Pacific Health Care Venture was established in 1986 and became an independent nonprofit corporation in 1987. We began providing our unique brand of medical care through a primary care program subcontracted to various clinics in our community. We also collaborated with other local health organizations to begin providing health education and awareness on topics including youth empowerment, HIV/AIDS awareness, tobacco use prevention among teens and adults, tuberculosis, and hepatitis.

In 1997, our first community health center was opened to the public, allowing us to directly provide our clinical and education services, including to those who may not have been receiving care due to lack of insurance or ability to pay. Over the years, several renovation projects expanded and improved our center, including the addition of our pharmaceutical dispensary. From 6 exam rooms to a current total of 28 examination rooms, APHCV continues to grow and expand to serve the continued needs of our community.

April 2001 saw the opening of our second location, situated on the campus of John Marshall High School in Los Angeles. This location allows us to provide direct medical care, wellness services, and patient education to the students of John Marshall High during school hours. In August 2009, our Belmont Health Services location opened at Belmont High School near downtown, providing similar medical and health education services to students and local community members.

What's next for APHCV? As we continue to improve our care by constantly seeking out the best possible health care techniques and technologies, we are in the process of opening our fourth location in El Monte, California to serve the growing health care needs of members of the San Gabriel Valley, many of whom travel to Los Angeles to seek the services they need.

In addition, we are improving the technology of our record keeping and will eventually feature electronic medical records for increased accuracy and improved access to patient records. Which means less paper used and better patient care: a benefit for you and the environment!
