URGENT: A Message from APHCV about the LA Fires
We hope this message finds you safe and well. We would like to update you on our services and on the multiple fires currently active in Los Angeles County. While none of our clinic locations have received any evacuation orders as of 10AM, Thursday January 9th, 2025, it is good to stay informed and prepared. Our John Marshall High School Health Center (JMHSHC) is subject to the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD)’s decision regarding school closures. If LAUSD decides to close the school campus, our JMHSHC will also be closed.
For all other APHCV health centers (Los Feliz Health Center, Belmont Health Center and El Monte/Rosemead Health Center), APHCV will remain available unless a mandatory evacuation is ordered, at which time we will inform you. Please do pay close attention to our emails, calls, and texts.
We strongly encourage you to first call us before coming to your appointment. Your Provider and Care Team members are also affected by the fires. They may not be available for your appointment or may need to provide you a telephone visit.
The biggest health threat from smoke comes from fine particles. These microscopic particles can get into your eyes and respiratory system, where they can cause health problems such as burning eyes, runny nose, and illnesses such as bronchitis. Please remain indoors as much as possible keeping windows and doors closed, and avoid strenuous outdoor activity. See our notice on air quality: https://www.aphcv.org/?p=4726&preview=true
For those affected by the wildfires, see here for a list of resources.
We are here to support you. If you have any concerns requiring attention, please do not hesitate to contact us at (323) 644-3880. For medical emergencies, always call 911.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Be prepared, stay alert, and take precautions.
